When our clients approach us for building a deck, we need to take several things into consideration. Before we move onto the project, we sit down with our clients to see just what they need. It is important to plan a deck properly because if the execution is bad, it can ruin the exterior of your home. Even before we consider the deck material, we take these factors into consideration:

• Where to place it: Decks need to be placed in an ideal spot, so that they can be utilized properly. We often recommend that you place your decks in high traffic areas. For example, a deck by the living room might see more use than a deck by your children’s room.
  
  
• Exposure to the sun: If you intend to sun bathe on your deck, well and good. If you prefer to relax in the cool shade, that’s great as well. Either way, the placement of the deck should be considered carefully. We assess each house to see which place gets proper exposure to the sun and where it is cool and shades and then install the deck as per your requirements
  
  

• Privacy: One of the main reasons why people build decks is to ensure their privacy, especially when they’re building it around a pool. • Views, Wind and Trees: If your house has stunning surroundings, it is best to build a deck from where you have an optimal view. A deck can be a great vantage point if you’re residing in a forested area, near a lake or on the coast. Similarly, you need to consider the wind and trees as well.
